CAUTION: Mount the chassis securely, and then install line cards and other
components in the secured chassis.
CAUTION: Before mounng the router on a rack or cabinet, have a qualied technician
verify that the rack is strong enough to support the router's weight and is adequately
supported at the installaon site.
CAUTION: If you are mounng mulple units on a rack, plan to mount the rst router at
the boom of the rack. Mount the heaviest unit at the boom of the rack. Mount the
other units from the boom of the rack to the top in decreasing order of weight:
heaviest unit on the boom, lightest unit at the top.
To mount the router:
1. Wrap and fasten one end of the ESD grounding strap around your bare wrist, and connect the
other end to a site ESD point.
2. Aach the mounng blades to the front rack posts by using six rack mount screws appropriate for
your rack and a screwdriver (see Figure 37 on page 121).
