25.1Checking the valve clearance
– Remove the filter box bottom. ( p. 28)
– Remove the side covers. ( p. 36)

– Detach connector of the ignition coil.
– Remove the ignition coil.
– Remove screws and take off the valve cover.
– Remove the spark plug using the special tool.
Spark plug wrench (75029172000) ( p. 202)
– Repeat these steps on the second cylinder.
– Set the engine to ignition top dead center of the rear cylinder. ( p. 76)

– On all valves, check the valve clearance between the camshaft and cam lever.

– Adjust the rear valve clearance. ( p. 150)
– Set the engine to ignition top dead center of the front cylinder. ( p. 76)

– Remove special tool .
– Crank the engine several times. Check the valve clearance and correct it if neces-
sary.
– Remove special tool and screw in and tighten screw .
