Before removing the PIB board:
1. Remove the top cover. See
“Remove the top cover” on page 212.
2. Pull out the power supplies slightly. Ensure that they are disconnected from the system board.
3. Remove the system board assembly out of the chassis. See
“Remove the system I/O board or processor
board” on page 199
.

Step 1. Remove the two screws from the PIB board.
Step 2.
Pull out the PIB board outward from the system board tray.
If you are instructed to return the old PIB board, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging
materials that are provided.
Install the PIB board
Use this information to install the PIB board.
Attention:
• Read
“Installation Guidelines” on page 45 and “Safety inspection checklist” on page 46 to ensure that you
work safely.
• Power off the server and disconnect all power cords for this task.
