in contact with the oil pump body, locate
filter on its
adaptor ond screw on by
HAND
in a clockwise direction. When
the filter 'seats' continue
turning the filter for a further two
-
thirds to three
-
quarters of a turn to ensure on oil tight joint.
2. Refill
the sump with oil, start the engine ond check for oil leaks at the
filter to oil pump joint,
if
necessary tightening the filter further to give on
oil tight joint.

To Remove

1.
Turn engine until at the timing position (see figure
15).

Remove the distributor cap.

3.
Disconnect the low tension cable.
4.
Discorinect the vacuum pipes to distributor.
5.
Release the nut securing the distributor clamp to the oil pump housin

, and
withdrow distributor.
6.
Ensure the spring
is
retained in the dog drive slot.
To Replace

Note that the driving dog on the distributor shaft
is
offset, therefore the
ESPRIT
