Toke off float
chamber gasket. Uriclip float pivot pin and,
noting carefully the top in order to
ensure correct re

assembly, take out
floats. Unscrew hexagon bodied needle valve from carburetter body.

Take off
'0'
ring from centre plug then thoroughly cleanse all ports that
have so far been removed.
7.
Refit needle valve into float chamber cover with new washer (thickness
1.6mm) and make sure
it
is screwed tightly into position.
8.
Replace float assembly, after inspecting for damage or distortion, slide In
pivot pin and clip assembly into position (see 'Float Height').
9.
With the new gasket in position, refit float chamber and tighten the retain-
ing screws securely from centre, outwards.
Fit
new
'0'
ring to centre plug
and replace tightly in
position. Refit carburetters to adaptor flange with
5l'.l.'

Top up damper
reservoirs
with the recommended oil (see Section
'0')
to
within in
(6.35mm) of top of centre rod.
11.
Refit carburetters and reset controls as described in ADJUSTING.
OVERHAUL
The carburetters should be overhauled every
25,000 miles (40,000 km) using the
E9
SERVICE
PACK,
one for each carburetter. Eoch pock contains the follo~lng items:

Flwt chamber gasket.

'0'
ring.

Needle valve.
d.
Diaphragm.
e.
Throttle spindle
seals

off)
f.
Temperature canpencator seals (2 off)
g.
Flange gasket.
To Overhaul
1.
Remove the carburetters from the engine, as previously described and piare
on a clean bench.
2.
Remove carburetters from inlet manifold, check carburetter induction flonges
for flatness and face

necessary. Carry out similar procedure to that
outlined for the
10,000
miles service in respect of float chamber cleanliness
