To Remove

Remove the transmission unit from the vehicle, see Section
'F'
ENGINE.
2.
Remove the clutch assembly from the flywheel by progressively releasing
the securing bolts around the periphery of the cover.
To Replace

With the aid of a dummy input shaft centralise the driven plate on the flywheel
ENSURING the correct
face
is
towards the flywheel.
2.
Replace the clutch assembly on the fl
y
wheel, ensuring it is located on the
dowels, and insert the bolts with spring washers. It
is
importont that the
bolts ore tightened uniformly to
ensure?hat no distortion occurs on the
dia
p
hragm springs. Tighten each bolt one turn at a time until the specified
torque
loading is reached (see TECHNICAL DATA). Remove the dummy
input shaft.
3.
Refit the transmission unit to the engine and check operotion of clutch.

Remove the clutch ossembly as previous1 y described.

Check the condition of the pressure plate surface and should it show any signs of
distortion, scoring or overheoting it
is
recommended that it be replaced by a new
assembly. It
is
essential to install a complete driven pjate assembly
if
a
new
pressure plate
is
fitted. Worn focings on the drive plate will indicate some wear has
also taken place on the springs, the spring
seotings ond the hub splines. The
ossembly could also be out of balance and no longer concentric.
llnder no circumstances should any attempt be made to repoir or rectify faults on the
driven plate, always replace
if
faulty.
