(2) Open the cover of the harness connection part (18: Main
boom side) and extract the dummy plug (30) in the connector
(31).
The removed dummy plug (30) will be later connected into a
connector in the harness connection part (17: Fly-jib side).
(3) Connect the harness plug (32), as extracted in (1) above, to
the connector (31).
Ensure that wires of the harness plug (32) and connector (31)
are guided out of the connector box through the hole cut in the
bottom left.
(4) Open the cover of the harness connection part (17: Fly-jib
side) and connect the dummy plug (30), as extracted in (2)
above, to the connector (29).
Don’t forget to install the dummy plug (30) into the
connector (29) in the harness connection part (16: Fly-jib
side). If not, the absence of the dummy plug may cause
mis-function of the over-hoist detector. In such event, it
may cause the hook or load to drop and result in a serious
hazard.
6. Start the engine to lower the boom fully, then stop the engine.
7. Detach the linchpin (25) from the position pin (16) attached to
the hole of the bracket (27) on the left side of the main boom tip,
then extract the position pin (16) from the hole in the lower part
of the bracket (27).
• Do not pull out the position pin (16) completely until the main
boom is set level, later on.
• When you find it difficult to extract the position pin from the hole
in the lower part of the bracket (27), lift the Fly-jib tip and extract
the pin.
• The removed linchpin (25) of the position pin (16) shall be firmly
inserted in the hole for storage at the boom tip. When inserted,
ensure the ring is turned to lock it.
