7.6 Transmission
7.6.1 Check the oil level
Check the warning lamp (1) on the instrument panel in the driver's cab on
a daily basis.
Switch on the ignition.
The warning lamp (1) lights up briefly and then goes out.
There is no transmission malfunction – the engine can be started.
If the lamp (1) is lit
There is a transmission malfunction – the engine may not be started.
Have the transmission malfunction corrected immediately.
Prerequisites The truck crane must be level.
The parking brake must be applied.
The transmission must be in neutral position N.
Sequence of
checks
Check the oil level in the transmission daily in this sequence:
prior to starting the engine;
à P. 7 - 44.
when the gear oil is cold;
à P. 7 - 44.
when the gear oil is warm;
à P. 7 - 45.

To prevent damage to the transmission, the oil level check is always most
accurate when the gear oil is warm.

When the engine is running, the gear oil level will continue to be monitored
by the oil level sensor;

Risk of damage to the transmission!
If the oil level is too low or too high, this can lead to malfunctions and dam-
age to the transmission.
Carry out the oil level checks in the sequence specified.
