7.8.4 Final drives – Checking the oil level

Additional equipment (2nd axle line driven)
Prerequisites – The truck crane must be raised on outriggers and must be level.
– The engine must not be running and must be secured against unauthor-
ised use;

– The parking brake must be released.
Checking the oil
level
• Check the oil level at all other final drives in
the same way.
• Turn the wheel until the marking (2) is hori-
zontal and is on the right, next to the centre
of the axle.
• Remove the drain plug (1).
• Check that the oil level is at the mark (2).
• Fit a new gasket and tighten the screw.
If the oil level is too low
• Top up with oil; à P. 7 - 61.
