16.3 Zeroing the Transducer
To avoid inaccurate pressure readings, the monitor requires a valid zeroing. Zero the transducer in accordance with your
hospital policy (at least once per shift). Zero whenever:
A new transducer or adapter cable is used.
You reconnect the transducer cable to the monitor.
The monitor restarts.
You doubt the readings.
1. Turn off the stopcock to the patient.
2. Vent the transducer to the atmospheric pressure by turning on the stopcock to the air.
3. In the [pArt Setup] menu, select [pArt Zero >>][Zero].
During zero calibration, the [Zero] button appears dimmed. It recovers after the zero calibration is completed.
4. If [pCVP Measure] is set to [Auto], zeroing pCVP is also a must. To zero pCVP, enter the [pCVP Setup] menu, select
[pCVP Zero >>][Zero].
5. After the zero calibration is completed, close the stopcock to the air and open the stopcock to the patient.
