2. On the left of the Assignment area, click the Automation tab to show the Automation
pane, then in this pane click the Host tab.
3. Click the Enable label in the Assignment field under any unassigned parameter to auto-
matically assign that parameter to the next free automation ID.

The Assignment field displays the automation ID for that parameter. The parameter is
ready to be controlled from your host.
Removing an automation ID is also straightforward:

Click the non-empty Assignment field under any assigned parameter to remove the auto-
mation ID currently assigned to that parameter.
