The IVM should always be optimally positioned where it can monitor a majority of the telephone traffic.
Active tests can be performed only between switches that are configured to be managed by an IVM appliance. When the Discovery
process is unsuccessful, only schedule-triggered Active Tests can be performed between these switches.
When there is an IVM at the MEGACO site, but not at the remote site, calls from the remote are recorded under the MEGACO
Station Card, but no summary reporting for the individual telephones at the remote site is provided. The IP address of the remote
telephones is displayed on the MEGACO Station call records.
