Configuration and Ordering Examples
The components you need to order varies based on the library configuration.
Example 1: 30 cartridge library with an IBM LTO-7 FC drive, a second FC drive, and a
second power supply (redundant power):
• 7114334 — Base Module, 30 slots with IBM LTO-7 half-height FC tape drive
• 7114335 — Drive, IBM LTO-7, half-height FC
• 7101769 — Power supply
Example 2: 60 cartridge library with two partitions, a total of four IBM LTO-8 drives (2
SAS and 2 FC), and four power supplies:
• 7118432 — Base Module, 30 slots with one IBM LTO-8 half-height SAS tape drive
• 7101763 — Expansion Module, 30 slots
• 7118438 — Drive, IBM LTO-8, half-height SAS
• 7118437 — Drive, IBM LTO-8, half-height FC (x2)
• 7101769 — Power supply (x3)
Example 3: 90 cartridge library with one IBM LTO-8 FC drive
• 7118433 — Base Module, 30 slots with one IBM LTO-8 half-height FC tape drive
• 7101763 — Expansion Module, 30 slots (x2).
Note that an Expansion Module receives power from the Base Module. The
Expansion Module requires a power supply only when it contains a tape drive.
Example 4: Upgrade an existing library without partitions from 30 to 120 cartridges
with a SAS drive in each module (power is not redundant):
