Verify a Fan Module
1.
Ensure that you have completed the following:
■
Applied power to the server.
See “Connect Power Cords” on page 191.
■
Powered on the server.
See “Power On the Server (Oracle ILOM)” on page 192.
2.
Check the front or rear panel LEDs for the following:
■
Green System OK LED – lit
■
Amber System Fault LED – not lit
■
Amber System Fan Fault LED – not lit
See “Front Panel Controls and LEDs” on page 29 and “Rear Panel Controls and
LEDs” on page 31.
If these conditions are met, continue to Step 5.
If these conditions are not met, perform the actions described in “Diagnostics
Process” on page 23.
3.
Log in to Oracle ILOM.
See “Log In to Oracle ILOM (Service)” on page 26.
4.
Start the faultmgmt shell.
-> start SP/faultmgmt/shell
Are you sure you want to start the faultmgmt shell (y/n)? y

5.
Use the fmadm faulty command to check for faults.
■
If faults are reported, see “Diagnostics Process” on page 23.
■
If no faults are reported, then the fan module has been replaced successfully.
