PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Original Instructions
8 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The iTC requires minimal maintenance. It is recommended that the following
maintenance tasks are performed every six months.
8.1 Six-monthly maintenance
1 Clean the touch-screen (see Section 8.1.1).
2 Calibrate the temperature sensor boards (see Section 8.1.2).
8.1.1 Cleaning the touch-screen
Required items:
 A soft, microfibre cloth.
The touch-screen is a sensitive item that is easily scratched. Only use recommended
cleaning products to clean the screen.
1 Switch off the instrument.
2 Wipe the touch-screen with a soft microfibre cloth to remove dust or any marks. Do
not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products.
8.1.2 Calibrating the temperature-sensor circuits
This procedure calibrates the electronics in each temperature-sensor circuit that is fitted
to the iTC. It does not calibrate the external temperature sensors.
1 Locate the summary panel on the Home page for the first temperature-sensor
circuit to be calibrated.
2 Tap the panel once to display the Sensor Details page
3 Tap Calibrate.
4 Wait until the internal calibration routine has completed. This takes approximately
one minute.
5 Repeat steps 1 to 4 for every temperature-sensor circuit that is configured.
8.1.3 Unscheduled maintenance
The lithium-ion coin-cell on the motherboard may have to be replaced. Only use a
suitably approved lithium coin-cell with built-in protection (e.g. Panasonic 3V BR2032).
Only trained personnel must replace this item.
