6 BASIC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 Configuring the LCD display
1 Tap Settings on the Home page. The Settings tabs are displayed.
2 Select the Display tab.
3 Tap the Auto Dim Option field to turn the auto-dim feature on or off. See Section
4.1.1 for a description of auto-dim.
4 Adjust the Brightness (%) and AutoDim (%) fields as required.
5 Tap Apply to save the changes.
6 Tap Home to return to the Home page.
6.2 Changing a setpoint
6.2.1 Changing a heater setpoint
1 Tap Control on the Home page. The Control Loop Configuration page is displayed.
2 Select the required temperature-sensor in the Sensor field.
3 Tap the Heat(%) button until it displays Auto.
4 Tap the Set (K) button until it displays Manual.
5 Enter the new setpoint in the Set (K) field.
6 Tap Home to return to the Home page.
6.2.2 Changing a gas-flow setpoint
1 Tap Control on the Home page. The Control Loop Configuration page is displayed.
2 Select the required temperature-sensor in the Sensor field.
3 Tap the Flow(%) button until it displays Manual.
4 Enter the new gas-flow setpoint (as a percentage of the maximum flow) in the
Flow(%) field.
5 Tap Home to return to the Home page.
6.3 Using the sweep function
6.3.1 The purpose of the sweep function
The sweep function allows the setpoint to be programmed to follow a fixed temperature
vs time profile. The profile consists of a series of constant-temperature steps joined by
linear ramps.
During a ramp, the system updates the temperature setpoint every 100 mSec.
