2.3 Designated use
The MOVISAFE
®
DCS21B/22B option in combination with the DFS12B/22B option and
the MOVISAFE
®
DCS31B/32B option are designed for installation in
MOVIDRIVE
®
MDX61B inverter sizes 1 to 7.
Using the DEU21B option together with MOVISAFE
®
DCS21B/22B/31B/32B is only
permitted if the SSI encoder signals are not splitted or if the specification of the DCS..B
option is adhered to according to chapter "Technical requirements on suitable encoder
types".
When installed in machines, startup of the MOVISAFE
®
DCS..B option (i.e. start of des-
ignated operation) is prohibited until it is determined that the machine complies with the
local laws and directives. In the individual area of application, you must especially ob-
serve the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC as well as the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC.
The EMC test specifications EN 61000-4-2, EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-
6 and EN 61000-6-2 form the basis for this. EN 60204-1 must also be observed.
The MOVISAFE
®
DCS21B/22B/31B/32B module is a programmable safety control for
implementing safe disconnection and safety functions. The module can be used as fol-
lows:
In emergency switching off devices
As safety component according to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
As PES for risk reduction according to IEC 61508
In safety circuits according to EN 60204-1 and EN 60204-32
As PES for functional safety according to EN 62061
As SRP/CS according to EN ISO 13849
As device for implementing the safety functions according to EN 61800-5-2
As logics unit for signal conversion and processing in two-hand control according to
EN 574
Observe the technical data and information on the connection requirements as provided
on the nameplate and in the documentation.
2.4 Transportation and storage
Observe the notes on transportation, storage and proper handling. Observe the climatic
conditions as stated in the section "General technical data".
2.5 Installation
The units must be installed and cooled according to the regulations and specifications
in the corresponding documentation.
Protect the MOVISAFE
®
DCS..B option from improper strain. Ensure that components
are not deformed and/or insulation spaces are maintained, particularly during transpor-
tation. Avoid contact with electronic elements and contacts.
The MOVISAFE
®
DCS..B option contains components that can easily be damaged by
electrostatic energy and improper handling. Prevent mechanical damage or destruction
of electric components (may pose health risk).
