The safety technology of the MOVISAFE
®
DCS..B option described below meets the fol-
lowing safety requirements:
• Performance level e according to EN ISO 13849-1.
• SIL 3 according to IEC 61508
3.1 Safety architecture of the DCS..B option
The internal structure of the DCS..B option consists of two separate channels with
mutual comparison of results. High-quality diagnostic mechanisms for fault detection are
executed in both channels.
The structure corresponds to the architecture and operating principle of category 4
according to EN ISO 13849-1.
The means the overall architecture has the following structure:
Double reading of every input and diagnostics by cross comparison.
The specific safety technology characteristics of the respective component (sensor,
actuator) are listed in the respective technical data chapters. To assess the overall sys-
tem in terms of safety, you can use the characteristic safety values specified in the
"Technical Data" chapter for the subsystem DCS..B (PES).
INFORMATION
EC type examination was carried out for the product. Copies of the EC type examina-
tion certificate are available from SEW-EURODRIVE.
