3.2 Safety functions
This chapter describes the safety functions according to DIN EN 61800-5-2. Some
safety functions of the MOVISAFE
®
UCS..B modules exceed the definitions specified in
the standard. More safety functions are available on the basis of the standard. These
include, for example,
• functions for drive systems prone to slip,
• functions for reading the contacts of external switching devices and
• for safe control of a brake system.
The MOVISAFE
®
Config software selects possible safety functions depending on the
configuration, the basic module used, and the encoder or encoder combination. The
safety functions can be configured and parameterized in the logic as required.
The following table gives an overview of the maximum number of safety functions with
reference to the respective safety module.
