Electrical connection
WARNING!
Risk of damage to the device resulting from a
non-grounded supply voltage or equipotential bonding
currents!
Anon-groundedsupplyvoltageorpotentialdierences
between the supply voltage GND and the distance mea-
suring device housing may result in the device sustaining
damage.
For this reason:
Only operate with a grounded supply voltage.
Ensure low-impedance and current-carrying equipoten-
tial bonding.
NOTE!
For pre-assembled cables, see Page 117,
Chapter 15.2.
All electrical connections of the DL100 Pro distance measuring device are
conguredasM12roundconnectors.
The male connectors of the distance measuring device are compatible with
SpeedCon™ quick connectors and standard M12 screw connectors.
The screens of the PROFINET IO cables are connected together using the
PROFINET IO male connectors.
The IP65 protection class is only achieved with screwed plug connectors or
cover caps.
Please observe the following wiring instructions:
A correct and complete cable shielding concept is required for trou-
ble-free operation.
The cable shield must be connected at both ends in the control cabinet
and at the measuring device. The cable shield of the pre-assembled
cables is connected to the knurled nut and thus also to the measuring
device housing.
The cable shield in the control cabinet must be connected to the operat-
ing ground over a large surface area.
Appropriate measures must be taken to prevent equipotential bonding
currentsowingthroughthecableshield.
Do not lay cables parallel to other cables, especially not to devices with
a high level of radiated emission such as frequency converters.
