RCG(ReverberationControlledGain)settingwillremovethebottomechoes.Asthe
distancefromthebottomtotheshincreases,theshechoesbecomeclearer.However,
thisassumesthattheshechoesareconsiderablystrongerthanthebottomechoes.
•Ifyouuseaverysmalltilt(C)youarenotbotheredbybottomechoes.However,ifthe
seasurfaceisgustyyouwillseeechoesfromthewaves.Theseechoesarenormally
ratherweak,andtheyhardlymoveinrelationtoyourvessel.
•Bymeansofamediumtiltangle(B)youareabletopickupscatteredshorschoolsif
thesearelocatedatsomedistanceabovethebottom.Theupperschoolintheillustration
appearsonthesonarpicturebeforethebottomecho,whilethelowerschoolwilleasily
bedisguisedbythebottomechoes.OnceagainyoucanactivatetheRCGfunctionto
improvethereading.
