Severaldifferentcolourscalesarepredenedandavailableforthepresentationofthe
echoes.Youcaneasilychoosewhichcolourstouse.Thepresentationcolourshavenoeffect
ontheoperationalperformanceoftheST90.
Context
Whichcolourscaletouseismainlyapersonalpreferencebasedonambientlightconditions,
thenatureoftheechoesandyourownexperience.Keepinmindthatinthebasicscalewith
12colours,eachdiscretecolourrepresentsa3dBrangeofechosignalstrength.Thisimplies
thatthenextcolourisselectedeverytimetheechostrengthisdoubled.Ifyouchoosetouse
manycolours,theresolutionoftheST90presentationisgreatlyimproved.Itistheneasierto
distinguishthedifferencebetweenthevariousechoesofdifferentsizeand/ortargetstrength.
TheSmoothEchosounderscaleisbasedonthestandard12-colourscale.Additionalcolours
havebeenaddedbetweenthemtomakesmoothercolourtransitions.
