Chapter 11 Service and Repair
This chapter contains a general troubleshooting guide for use by you, the
user. It is provided to assist you in isolating some of the problems that
might arise while using the system. A complete repair procedure is beyond
the scope of this manual. For information concerning repair by Spectra-
Physics, see Chapter 12, “Customer Service.”
At the end of this chapter is a replacements parts table listing components
that can be replaced by you. A complete list of available optics can be
found in the tables at the end of Chapter 10, “Options and Accessories.”
Troubleshooting Guide
Use this guide if Tsunami performance drops unexpectedly. We strongly
suggest you check the possible causes in the order listed as the most likely
causes are listed first. If you try the following suggestions and are unable to
bring your Tsunami performance up to specification, call your Spectra-
Physics service representative for help.
These procedures may require you to adjust or replace optics while
using the laser at high power. For safety, close the pump laser shutter
every time you change an optic or interfere with the intracavity beam in
any way, and only open it during actual alignment. Protect yourself with
appropriate eyewear at all times.
