Using the Zoom Feature
Use the oscilloscope Zoom feature to magnify an acquisition vertically,
horizontally, or in both dimensions to let you see the fine detail in your signals
without changing the acquisition parameters (sample rate, record length, and so
on). For example, to temporarily expand the front corner of a pulse to inspect its
aberrations, push the front-panel ZOOM button to expand it horizontally and
vertically.
To help you use zoom effectively, consider how it operates on waveforms.
H When zooming vertically, the oscilloscope expands or contracts one
waveform at a time. Also, the oscilloscope vertically positions only one
waveform at a time.
H When zooming horizontally, Zoom expands either the waveform you select,
all live waveforms, or all live and reference waveforms, depending on the
Zoom Lock setting.
H When zooming horizontally or vertically, Zoom expands or contracts the
waveform by the Zoom Scale setting.
Use this procedure to zoom in on a waveform. For more information, access
online help.
Overview To zoom in on waveforms Control elements and resources
Prerequisites
1. The oscilloscope must be installed and operating, with a
signal connected to an input channel, and horizontal and
vertical controls and triggering set up.
2. Obtain a stable display of the waveform to be measured.
See page 3--25 for acquisition setup & page 3--49 for
trigger setup.
