Use this procedure to create a math waveform using Dual Waveform math. If you
have purchased the Advanced Analysis option (TDS5UP Option 2A), use the
subsequent procedure beginning on page 3--145.

Prerequisites
1. All waveforms that you want to use must be available.

window
2. From the toolbar, cli ck the Math button to open the Math
Setup control window.
Select a m ath

3. Select the Mathn tab for the math waveform that you
want to create, and click Di splay to toggle it on.
Tip. If the wavef orm you select already exists, its math
expression appears in the window. You can still use the
waveform by clicking Clear, which discards the previous
math expression. You may also want to select another
waveform.

4. Enter a complete mat h expression by selecting a
channel or reference waveform as the left operand,
selecting an operator, and selecting another channel or
reference waveforms as the right operand. The left
channel selector tabs are always assigned to the first
waveform and the right channel selector tabs are always
assigned to the second waveform.
Note that you cannot use a math waveform as an
operand in any expression.

5. Once you have defined the math expression to your
satisfaction, click Apply.
