3.2 Valve spindle − installation
1) Measure the dimensions of the valve
spindle (7, Fig. 4).
2) Compare the values with those given in
0330−1 Exhaust Valve table.
3) Do a check of the piston seal ring (17)
for damage. If you find damage,
replace the piston seal ring.
4) If necessary, replace all O-rings.
5) Put oil on the valve spindle (7).
6) Use two M24 eye bolts and two ropes
to lift the valve cage (1700 kg) to the
top of the valve spindle (7). Make sure
that the valve spindle does not move.
7) Lower the valve cage very carefully
over the valve spindle. Do not damage
the guide bush.
8) Put a new rod seal (11) in position on
the guide bush (9) and apply oil to it.
9) Install the distance ring (10) with four
cap screws (12), see also Fig. 3.
3.3 Valve drive − assemble
1) Put the five cup springs (18) in position.
2) Fill the oil bath (6) with system oil.
3) Before you install a new piston seal
ring (17), do as follows:
4) Put the new piston ring seal (17) in
boiling water for some minutes.
5) Carefully put the piston ring seal (17) in
the correct position on the piston (16,
Fig. 4).
6) Put the piston (16) in position on the
valve spindle (7).
7) Install the valve cotters (15).
8) Push the piston (16) up and Install the
circlip (33).
9) Attach two eye bolts M12 to the bottom
housing (2).
10) Lift, then lower the bottom housing 2 on
to the valve cage (1).
11) Install the the cap screw (42).
