1. Preparation
WARNING
Injury Hazard: Before you
operate the turning gear,
make sure that no
personnel are near the
flywheel.
Note: On some cylinder configurations,
the supply unit is in a different
position. It can be necessary to
remove some platform
components of the supply unit to
get access to the bottom end
bearing. An alternative procedure
that uses the optional tool
(94116D) is given in 3303−2/A2.
1) Use the turning gear to turn the
crankshaft until the applicable crank (2,
Fig. 1) is at TDC. Lock the turning gear.
2) Attach the eye bolts 94045-M24 to the
bearing cover (3).
3) Attach the manual ratchets 94016−012
(H2, H3) and shackles 94019L to the
column.
4) Connect the hooks and shackles
94019L to the eye bolts on the bearing
cover (3).
5) Apply a light tension to the manual
ratchets (H2) and (H3).
