1. Preparation
WARNING
Injury Hazard: Before you operate the turning gear, make sure
that no personnel are near the flywheel.
Note: The lifting tool (94116D) must only be used at positions where the supply
unit platform prevents access.
Note: This procedure is for engines where the supply unit is near the middle of
the fuel side on engines with 9 to 12 cylinders. For engines with 6 to 8
cylinders, the procedure can look different because the supply unit is in a
different position on the engine.
1) Read the data in:
D 0012−1 General Guidelines for Lifting Tools
D 3301−1 Platform.
2) If necessary, remove the applicable platform components to get access to the
bottom end bearing.
