1112−1 Bedplate − Do a check pre-tension check of the foundation
bolts. First check after 1500 Op. h

− Make sure that the rubber gasket in the vertical oil
drain to sump tank is serviceable (see SPC 9722),
first time at the earliest opportunity after ship
delivery.

Estimated lifetime: Bedplate foundation bolts engine lifetime
Crankcase − Visual examination 100 Op. h after an overhaul.
Look for white metal particles from bearings and
cracks.

1132−2 Main bearing − Remove the bearing shell for inspection (only
necessary if bearing clearance, crankshaft
deflection, wire check, oil analysis or crankcase
inspection indicates wear or damage)
at indications of wear

− Bearing edge check by wire 6000
− Check bearing clearance, refer to 0330−1 6000
− Do a check of the bearing edge check with wire.
Record the results.

1203−1 Thrust bearing − Check axial and vertical clearances 6000
− Make sure that the bottom drain is not blocked 6000 to 8000
1224−1 − Remove the thrust bearing pads for inspection
(only necessary if bearing clearance, oil analysis
or crankcase inspection indicates wear or
damage)
