WARNING
Injury and Damage Hazard: Do not turn the crankshaft when the
platforms, tools and/or supports, are installed. This will cause
injury to personnel and damage to equipment.
WARNING
Injury Hazard: Before you operate the turning gear, make sure
that no personnel are near the flywheel or in the engine.
Note: On some cylinder configurations, the supply unit is in a different position.
It can be necessary to remove some platform components of the supply
unit to get access to the main bearing. An alternative procedure that uses
the optional tool (94116D) is given in 11322/A2.
1) Read the data in:
D 00121 General Guidelines for Lifting Tools
D 33011 Platform.
2) Use the turning gear to turn the crank approximately 90_ after TDC to the exhaust
side.
3) Set the main oil supply pumps to off and close the oil lubrication to the main bearing.
4) Lock the turning gear to prevent operation.
