5.3 Sterilizer Key
Switch Operation
Key Switch Function: The key switch has two positions – 0 (Off)
and I (On). When power is supplied to sterilizer, the key should be in
the 0 (Off) position. When the key is moved to I (On) position, 24V dc
power is applied to control and power-up sequence begins. The key
switch should remain in I (On) position at all times, unless it is
necessary to power down the sterilizer.
NOTE: If sterilizer will not be used for an extended period of time,
place the sterilizer in Standby mode. Standby is accessed from
control screen (refer to Figure 5-3).
Important: If a complete power down is required, the key switch can
be moved to the 0 (Off) position. The system then begins a
controlled power-down sequence of the control’s operating system.
Summary of key switch functions
• 0 (Off) – If a complete re-boot is ever required, turning the key
switch to 0 (Off) causes sterilizer to completely power down.
• I (On) – Turning switch to I (On) causes machine to power up
control’s operating system normally (through a normal boot up
process).
• Loss of Power: If power is disconnected or lost while sterilizer is
in cycle, the control stores all cycle values required and shuts
down. The system automatically powers ON when power is
restored.
