Loading and Unloading
Refer to Figure 6-3.
• 26 x 61 x 49 (660 x 1550 x 1245 mm) accommodates one 48-
inch (1219 mm) loading cart.
• 26 x 61 x 72 (660 x 1550 x 1850 mm) accommodates one 28-
inch (711 mm) loading cart and one 42-inch (1067 mm) loading
cart.
1. STERILIZE LIQUIDS SEPARATELY from other supplies or
materials. For procedure for sterilizing liquids, refer to S
ECTION
6.11, L
IQUID CYCLE, on PAGE 6-23.
2. Place all fabric packs flat, and arrange load in chamber to allow
for steam passage between all items.
3. Place jars, canisters and all other non-porous enclosures of dry
material opening downward, or on their sides, with covers
removed. This aids in air displacement and drying (both critical
to sterilization).
4. Place utensils and treatment trays on edge, to allow for steam
passage, and to aid sterilization and drying.
5. Place any instrument sets in trays with a perforated bottom (or
equivalent). Place flat for sterilization.
6. In mixed loads combining fabrics and hard goods, place hard
goods on lower shelves to reduce possibility of wetting from
dripping condensate.
NOTE: Do not overload loading equipment or sterilizer. Refer to the
following capacity and load parameters:
Important: When loading, take care to
• Allow for steam penetration between packs.
• Load components so they do not touch chamber walls.
