nomicalperformance,ifyoupayparticularattentiontothe
engineduringtheinitialrun-inperiod.(Seethemainte-
nancechartinChapter7forfurtherinformation.)
Duringthisperiod:

Warmuptheenginebeforeusingitunderload.
•
Donotoperatetheengineatmaximumpowerforpro-
longedperiodsoftime.
•
Donotruntheengineforalongperiodatidlespeed.
•
Frequentlychecktheinstrumentsontheinstrument
panel.
•
Checktheoillevelsandcoolantlevelfrequently.
•
Duringtherun-inperiod,thefollowingchecksandser-
vicingoperationsshouldbecarriedoutinadditionto
thosespeciedintheserviceschedule:
NOTICE:Forturbochargedengines,onlyshuttheengine
downfromthelowidlepositiontopreventdamagetothe
turbocharger.
