Followthemaintenanceintervalsbycheckingthehour
metereveryday.Beforestartingmaintenance,parkthe
machineonat,rmground,awayfromanyobstacles,
withthebucket/attachmentontheground.Keepallunau-
thorizedpersonnelclearofthearea.Unlessotherwise
specied,allmaintenanceoperationsshouldbecarried
outwith:

themachineparkedonarm,levelsurface
•
thetransport/servicelinklockedintopositiontostopthe
machinefromunexpectedarticulation
•
theparkingbrakeengaged
•
thekeyremovedfromthekeyswitch

wheelchocksblockingthewheels
•
allcircuitscooleddownpriortostartingwork
•
allhydraulicpressurereleasedinliftarmandbucket/
attachmentcircuits
•
anyaccumulatorpressurereleasedfortheappropriate
circuit
Cleanthegreasettingsbeforelubrication.Cleanaround
plugsandllerholesbeforeaddinguid.Nodustordirt
mustenterthecomponentsorthecircuits.Wearsuitable
clothingandremembertousethenecessarysafetyequip-
ment.
Whenperformingserviceworkonthemachine,placea
DoNotOperatetagontheinstrumentpanelorkeyswitch.
Turnoffengineandremovekeybeforeleavingoperator's
compartment.
Anymodicationtothismachinewithoutpriorauthoriza-
tioncouldcauseseriousinjury.Donotmakeanymodi-
cationswithoutauthorization.Consultyourdealer.
Theserviceintervalsinthischapterrefertonormalop-
eratingconditions.Duringtherstoperationperiodofa
newmachine(100initialhours)orrebuiltcomponentand
underparticularlysevereconditions,theserviceintervals
shouldbecarriedoutmorefrequently.
