clockwhentheengineisrunning.
Servicingintervalsarecarefullycalculatedtoguarantee
safeandefcientmachineoperation.
Besuretocarryoutalltheservicingoperationsproperly
asdenedinthismanual.
Variableperiodicmaintenance
Someworkingenvironmentsrequirethatmaintenancebeperformedmorefrequently.Dust,dirt,moisture,extremehot
orcoldandmanyotherfactorsshouldbetakenintoconsiderationwhenservicingthemachine.Certainequipmentor
auxiliarytoolsmaycausemorestressonhydraulics,drivetrain,enginesorlters.Thefollowingmaintenanceshould
beperformedonregularschedules,butoftenneedspecialattentionwhenconditionsrequire.
Engineairlter
Replacetheprimaryelementiftheairlterindicatorlamp
illuminates.
Theprimaryelementmaybecleaned,howeveranewel-
ementisrecommended,ifquestionable.Theinnerele-
mentcannotbecleanedandmustbereplaced.
Toperiodicallycleantheprimaryairlter,holdwiththe
rubbersealfacingdown.T apallsidesofthelterwith
yourhand.Blowthelteroutwithcompressedair—
maximumpressure4.8bar(70psi).Holdthenozzlea
minimumof7.6cm(3in)awayfromlter.Useanozzle
diameternosmallerthan6.4mm(0.25in).Inspectthel-
terfordamage.Wipetheltersealoffandcleanalldust
fromaircleanerhousing.Neverusewatertocleanthe
primarylter.
Tiresandwheels
Adjusttheinationpressureofthetireswhencircum-
stancesrequire.Keeptiresproperlyinatedandcheck
torqueofwheelbolts/studs.
Wheelsshouldbecheckedforpropertorqueeverytwenty
hourswhennewanduntiltheyremaintight.
Airconditioningcondenser
Theairconditioningcondenserislocatedinthecooling
boxattherearofthemachine.Usecompressedairto
removedebrisandbuilduponthecondenser.
Fuelcooler
Thefuelcoolerislocatedinthecoolingboxattherearof
themachine.Usecompressedairtoremovedebrisand
buildupthatmayimpedeproperfunctionofthecooler.
Fuelprelter
Raisetheenginehoodanddrainwaterandsedimentfrom
thefuelprelter.Slowlyloosenthedrainvalvelocated
underthelteruntilcleanfuelrunsout.
Retightenthevalveandreplaceconnectors.Donotover-
tightenvalve.Thisprocedureshouldbeaperiodicmain-
tenanceproceduredependentuponclimateandusecon-
ditions.Seethecompleteprocedureforthefuelprelter
andfuellterinthissection.
Primingthefuelsystem
Prolongedperiodofinactivityorrunningoutoffuelmay
allowairtogetintothefuelsystem.Ifthisshouldhappen
makesurethetankisfullandthenprimethesystemusing
themanualprimingpumponthefuelpre-lter.
Fuses
Fusesmaybereachedbyopeningtheaccessdoorlo-
catedontherightsideofthecab.Ifafusehasblownthe
indicatorlightwillilluminate.
NOTE:Ifafuseblows,replaceitatonce.Locatethe
problemandifitreoccurs,haveitcheckedbyaservice
technician.
