andexperiencedrepairpersonnelforhelp.
Beforeyouservicethemachine,alwaysplaceaDO
NOTOPERATEtagonthekeyswitch.Makesurethat
themachineisclearly“taggedout”.
Wearprotectiveglassesandotherrequiredsafety
equipmentwhenservicingorrepairingthemachine.
Wearglovestoprotecthandswhenhandlingcable.
Disconnectthebatterybeforeworkingontheelectrical
system.Knowtheconsequencesofdisconnectingany
electronicorcomputerdevices.
Avoidlubricationormechanicaladjustmentswiththe
machineinmotionortheengineoperating.Iftheen-
ginemustbeinoperationtomakecertainadjustments,
placethetransmissioninneutral,applytheparkingde-
vice,placethebucket/attachmentinasafeposition,se-
curelyblockthewheelsanduseextremecaution.
Securelyblockthemachineoranycomponentthatmay
fallbeforeworkingonthemachineorcomponent.If
possible,useabackuporsecondaryblockingdevice
aswell.
Unexpectedvehiclemovementcanresultindeathor
seriousinjury.Applyparkingbrake,turnoffengineand
securemachinewithwheelchocks.
Topreventunexpectedmovement,securelyblock
workingelementswhenrepairingorchangingworking
toolpartssuchascuttingedges.
Nevermakerepairsonpressurizedcomponents,uid,
gasormechanicaluntilthepressurehasbeenrelieved
accordingtothemanufacturer’sinstructions.
Useextremecautionwhenremovingradiator,reservoir,
ortankcaps,drainplugs,greasettingsorpressure
taps.Parkthemachineandletitcoolbeforeopeninga
pressurizedtank.
Releaseallpressurebeforeworkingonsystemswhich
haveanaccumulator.
Hydraulicoilordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecan
penetratetheskinandcauseinfectionorotherinjuries.
Topreventpersonalinjury,relieveallpressurebefore
disconnectinguidlinesorperformingworkonthehy-
draulicsystem.Beforeapplyingpressure,makecertain
allconnectionsaretightandcomponentsareingood
condition.
Useapieceofcardboard,newspaper,orwoodtocheck
foranypressurizedleakstopreventuidpenetrating
theskin.Pressurizeaccumulatorswiththepropergas
accordingtomanufacturer’srecommendations.
Wheninatingtires,useaself-attachinginationchuck
withremoteshutoffandstandclearofthetire.Position
yourselfbesidethetireandnotbesidetherim.
Towingthismachineisnotrecommended.
Whenabsolutelynecessarytotowthemachine,donot
exceedtherecommendedtowingspeed.Besurethe
towingmachinehassufcientbrakingcapacitytostop
thetowedload.Ifthetowedmachinecannotbebraked,
atowbarmustbeusedortwotowingmachinesmust
beused-oneinfrontpullingandoneinthereartoact
asabrake.Avoidtowingoverlongdistances.
Alwaysobservepropermaintenanceprocedures.
Alwaysreplaceallmissing,illegibleordamagedsafety
signsordecalsasnecessary.Keepsallsafetysigns
anddecalscleanandlegible.
Observepropermaintenanceprocedures
Wheneverservicingorreplacinghardenedpins,etc.,
useabrassdriftorothersuitablematerialbetweenthe
hammerandpin.Alt:Useabrasshammer,driftor
suitablematerialonthepin,etc.
Keepthebrakesandsteeringsystemsingoodoperat-
ingcondition.
