Thesecondarysteeringsystemiselectricallypowered.Thissystemallowsyoutosteerthemachineiftheprimary
steeringsystemstopsworking.Maintainthebatteriestoassurethesystemwillfunction.
Checkthesecondarysteeringwhenthehourmeterreads250hoursoranytimeelectronicwarningsmaysoindicate.
Prioroperation:
Keepallnon-authorizedpersonnelclearofthearea.Parkthemachineonhardpackedlevelgroundwithenough
clearancearoundthemachinetoallowcompletesteeringfromsidetoside.Raisethebucketapproximately500mm
(19.7in)abovetheground.
1.Withthekeyswitchonandtheengineoff,conrmthe
secondarysteeringlightwithintheclusterison.This
indicatesthesteeringpressureislow.
2.Startthemachineandlettheenginerunforafewsec-
onds.Conrmthesecondarysteeringlightisoutafter
therstfewseconds.Thisconrmstheelectricalfunc-
tionofthecircuitisoperatingcorrectlyandadequate
pressurehasbuilt.Thesecondarysteeringmoduleis
nowfunctional.
3.Withthemachineatlowidleandsteeringstraight
ahead,turnthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositiontostop
theengine.ImmediatelyturnthekeybacktotheON
position(notstartposition).Thesecondarysteering
pump/motorshouldstartrunning.Conrmthelightis
onandthemotorisrunning.
4.Steerthemachinefullleftandthenfullrighttoconrm
thatthesecondarysteeringpumpisworking.Conrm
thereisnolackofsteeringfunction.
5.Lookattheinstrumentclustertoverifythatthesec-
ondarysteeringlightcomeson.
NOTICE:Donotrunthesecondarysteeringpump/motor
continuouslyformorethan20secondsatatimewithouta
2minutecooldown.
6.Restarttheengine.Conrmthesecondarysteering
lightstayson.Thesecondarysteeringmotorshould
stopafterapproximately3secondsandthesecondary
steeringlightshouldgoout.
7.Ifsteps2through6functionproperly,thesecondary
steeringisoperatingcorrectly.Ifnot,repairandretest.
Ifyouhaveanyproblemswiththisprocedure,callyour
dealer.
