Startingandstoppingprecautions
•
Walkaroundthemachineandwarnallpersonnelwho
maybeservicingthemachineorareinthemachine
pathpriortostarting.Donotstartuntilallpersonnel
areclearlyawayfromthemachine.Soundthehorn,if
equipped,beforestarting.
•
Walkaroundthemachine’stool,attachment,orfurther-
mostcontactpointtoviewoperationdangerareafrom
theworksitepersonnel’sviewandangle.
•
Checkthattheparkingdeviceisapplied,placethe
transmissioninneutralorparkasspeciedbythe
manufacturer,anddisengagethePTO,ifsoequipped,
beforestartingthemachine.
•
Adjust,secureandlatchtheseatandfastentheseat
beltbeforestartingthemachine.
•
Startandoperatethemachineonlyfromtheoperator's
station.
•
Donotbypassthemachine'sneutral-startsystem.The
neutral-startsystemmustberepairedifitmalfunctions.
•
Usebatteryboostercablesonlyintherecommended
manner.Improperusecanresultinbatteryexplosion
orunexpectedmachinemotion.Ventilatethebattery
areabeforeusingboostercables.Makesurethatus-
ingjumpercableswillnotinterfereorharmelectronic
processingorcomputerdevices.
•
Donotoperatetheengineinanenclosedareawithout
adequateventilation.
•
Parkthemachineonlevelgroundwheneverpossible
andapplytheparkingbrake.Ongrades,parkthema-
chinewiththewheelsortracksecurelyblocked.
•
Beforeleavingtheoperator'sstation,lowerthebucket/
attachmenttothegroundandshutofftheengine.
•
Removethestarterkeyand/orusethedisconnect
switchwhenleavingthemachineparkedorunat-
tended.
