andcorrectprocedure.Explosiveseparationofthetire
(singlepiecerim)orthetireand/orrimparts(multi-piece
rim)cancauseseriousinjuryordeath.

studsoffergreaterstrengthduetoanincreaseinclamping
forceandresistancetoloosening.
Wheelbolttorque
Ifthemachineisneworifawheelhasbeenremovedand
installed,checkthetorqueofthewheelboltsduringthe
run-inperioduntilboltsarestable.
Useahandwrench(notanimpact)totightenwheelbolts
topullthewheelagainsttheplanetaryhousing.
Tightenthewheelboltsusingthesequenceshown.First
tightentheboltsto278N·m(205.0lbft),thentightentoa
naltorqueof640-720N·m(472.0-531.0lbft),usingthe
samesequence.
