WARNING: Do not remove CPUs until the green LEDs are off
(approximately 20 seconds after a power-down).

WARNING: Modules have parts that operate at high
temperatures. Wait 2 minutes after power is removed
before touching any module.
WARNING: To prevent injury, unplug the power cord
from each power supply before installing components.
1. Shut down the operating system and turn off power to the system. Unplug
the power cord from each power supply.
2. Access the system chassis by following the instructions in Section 4.1.
3. Remove the covers from the fan area and the system card cage as explained
in Section 4.2.
4. Install the module in the next available slot (lowest numbered). See Figure
4–7 or Figure 4–8.
5. When adding a CPU module, remove and discard the airflow deflector
plate
from the CPU slot. See Figure 4–9.
6. Insert the CPU card
in the connector and push down on both latches
simultaneously.
7. Replace the system card cage cover, fan cover, and enclosure covers.
8. Reconnect the power cords.
Verification
1. Turn on power to the system.
2. During power-up, observe the screen display. The newly installed CPU
should appear in the display.
3. Issue the show config command to display the status of the new CPU.
