6.7 Resetting the RMC to Factory Defaults
If the non-default RMC escape sequence has been lost or forgotten,
RMC must be reset to factory settings to restore the default escape se-
quence.
WARNING: To prevent injury, access is limited to persons who
have appropriate technical training and experience. Such per-
sons are expected to understand the hazards of working within
this equipment and take measures to minimize danger to them-
selves or others.
The following procedure restores the default settings:
1. Shut down the operating system and press the Power button on the operator
control panel to the OFF position.
2. Unplug the power cord from each power supply. Wait until the +5V Aux
LEDs on the power supplies go off before proceeding.
3. Remove enclosure panels as described in Chapter 4.
4. Remove the system card cage cover and fan cover from the system chassis,
as described in Chapter 4.
5. Remove CPU1 as described in Chapter 4.
6. On the system board, install jumper J6 over pins 1 and 2. See Figure 6–4
for the location of J6. (The default jumper positions are shown.)
