4. PID regulator for governor and AVR
4.1 Description of PID controller
The AGC includes a PID controller for governor and AVR regulation. It consists of a proportional regulator, an integral regulator and
a derivative regulator. The PID controller is able to eliminate the regulation deviation and can easily be tuned in.

4.2 Controllers
There are three controllers for the governor control and three controllers for the AVR control.

VAr X Controls the power factor

The table below indicates when each of the controllers is active. This means that the controllers can be tuned in when the shown
running situations are present.

The load sharing mode depends on option G5 (power management) and whether hardware option M12 is installed (for
analogue load sharing).
