– Ifinspectionormaintenanceiscarriedoutonvehiclesorequipmentwhicharestillcoveredwithmud,oil,
etc., operators risk sliding or falling and the visual analysis of components is made more difficult.
Thoroughlycleanthevehicleorequipmentbeforeeveryoperation.
– Makesureaboutthemaintenanceproceduresbeforestartingthework.
– Keeptheworkareacleananddry.
– Replacewornorfaultycomponents.
– Eliminateaccumulationsofgreaseoilanddebris.
– Theknurledplates(bulbplates)andthecabflooraretheonlypartsofthevehiclethatcanbesteppedon.
Usealadder(suitablefortheintendedpurpose)formaintenanceofpartsthatcannotbereachedfrom
theground.
DANGER
Do not carry out any maintenance operation with running engine or moving vehicle.
Should maintenance need to be performed with the engine running, ask at least two workers for help and
observe the following instructions:
– Oneworkermustalwaysbeseatedinthedriver'sseat,readytoswitchofftheengineatanytime.
– Allworkersmustremainincontactwithoneanother.
– Takecarenottoremainentrappedincomponentsduringtheexecutionofoperationsperformedonthe
fan,fanbeltorotherrotatingparts.
– Donottouchleversorcontrolpedals.Shouldaleverorpedalneedtobemoved,alwayswarnoperators
firstsotheycanmoveoutofthedangerousarea.
– Doallowinstrumentsorotherobjectstofallintothevehiclerotatingparts,asthesepartsmaybreakand
beprojectedout.
– Thevehiclemustbeoutdoorswhentheengineisrunning.Thevehiclecanbekeptinaclosedareaonlyif
itisproperlyventilatedandthevehicleisequippedwithspecificpurifiers.
WARNING
If you need to work under raised mobile parts (booms, shovels, etc.) block them using
spacers placed on cylinder rods or lean them up against appropriately sized supports.
If you need to perform repair or maintenance work under the vehicle, firmly support the equipment
being used and the vehicle with blocks that are solid enough to support the weight.
– Store attachments removed from the vehicle in a safe place where they do not risk falling. Take
precautionstopreventunauthorizedpersonsfromapproachingthestoragearea.

Do not rest metal parts on the battery.
– Weldingoperationsmustalwaysbecarriedoutbyqualifiedweldersandinareasequippedwithsuitable
equipment.Thereis dangerofgasleaks, fireorelectrocutionduring weldingoperations.Do not allow
unqualifiedpersonneltocarryoutsuchoperations.
– Disconnectthebatterywiresbeforeworkingontheelectricalsystemorbeforecarryingoutarcwelding
onthevehicle.
