11.11 Radiator maintenance
11.11.1 Air recirculation grids and nets
Checkthattheairrecirculationgridsandnets(fig.1507281)are
cleanandfreefromdirt:
Forcleaninguseajetofairatlowpressurefromtheinsidetothe
outsideofthevehicle.

11.11.2 Radiator: Checking and cleaning
Theoilandwaterradiator“1”(fig.1507291)involvethefollowing
steps:
Radiators check
Checkthatthefinsarenotdeformed;inthatcasestraightenwith
caution.
Checkthatthefinshavenotaccumulateddirtandthattheyare
notobstructed.
Radiators cleaning
Preparethevehicleinthemaintenanceposition.
Cleantheradiatorfromdirtandimpuritiesaccumulatedbetween
the cooling fins. For cleaning use compressed air withpressure
notexceeding7bardirectedfromtheinsidetowardstheoutside.
Ifnecessary,applyadetergentsolutionandthenremoveitwitha
pressurewasher.

11.11.3 Radiator: Liquid filling up and replacement
DANGER
Do not remove the filler cap of the radiator when the system is hot, otherwise it could
cause leakage of boiling coolant. Once the system has cooled, turn the filler cap to the
first mark and wait until the pressure has completely exhausted before proceeding.
Risk of burns and injuries.
DANGER
The coolant can be toxic. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Rinse thoroughly with
water in case of contact with skin and eyes. Consult a doctor immediately.
If not reused, dispose of in accordance with local environmental regulations.
