Filling up
Tocheckthelevelofcoolantintheradiator(fig.1507301):
– Preparethevehicleinthemaintenanceposition.
– Waitforthecompletecoolingofthevehicle.
– Removetheguard"1"byremovingthetwofasteningscrews
toaccesstheradiatorcap"2".
– Slowlyunscrewthefillercap"2"counterclockwiseuptothe
safetystop.
– Checkthecoolantlevelthroughthecap.Ifbelow30mm(1.2
in)fromthecap,performthetoppingupoperations.
– Putbackthecap"2".
– Closeagaintheprotectivecasing"1".
– Opentheenginehood.
– Checkthelevelofcoolantintheexpansiontank"3".thelevel
mustalwaysbebetweentheminimumlevel"MIN"andthe
"MAX"level.
– Ifthelevelisbelow"MIN",removethecapontheexpansion
tankandtopupthelevel.
– Closetheenginehood.
WARNING!The coolant level in the expansion tank "3",
refers only to the tank, it is not the total coolant level.

Coolant replacement
Toreplacethecoolant(fig.1507302):
– Preparethevehicleinthemaintenanceposition.
– Waitforthecompletecoolingofthevehicle.
– Opentheengineupperhood.
– Remove the discharge sleeve “3” (Fig. 14M0120) to drain
waterfromtheradiator.
– Removetheguard"1"byremovingthetwofasteningscrews
toaccesstheradiatorcap"2"(Fig.15M0120).
– Removethefillercap“2”tospeeddraining.
– Allowthecoolingsystemtocompletelydrain.
– Rinse the radiator with clean demineralized water
introducingit fromthefiller cap"2"andmakingit flowout
fromtheorificeofthesleeve"3".Ifnecessary,adddetergent.
– Check the condition of sleeves and their fittings, replace
themifnecessary.
– Oncecleaninghasbeencompleted,refitthedrainsleeve"3".
– Fillthecoolingsystemfromthefillercap"2"untilthelevelis
30 mm (1.2 in) below the cap with the coolant previously
prepared.
– Closethefillercap"2".
– Putbacktheprotectivecasing"1".
– Starttheengineatidlespeedforafewminutes.
