Front panel LEDs
AssuredSAN 4004 Series supports storage enclosures in dual-purpose fashion. Each of the supported
chassis form factors can be configured as a controller enclosure or expansion enclosure (see Front panel
components on page 14 for descriptions of supported chassis).
Supported expansion enclosures are used for optionally adding storage. The J6G12 12-drive enclosure and
the J6G56 56-drive enclosure are the LFF drive enclosures used for storage expansion. The J6G24 24-drive
enclosure and the J6G48 48-drive enclosure are the SFF drive enclosures used for storage expansion (see
Table 4 on page 39 for a matrix showing controller enclosures and compatible drive enclosures).
Enclosure bezels
Each AssuredSAN 4004 Series enclosure is equipped with a removable bezel designed to cover the front
panel during enclosure operation. The 2U bezels look very similar, but there are differences between the two
models. The bezel fitting the 2U24 chassis provides two embossed pockets used during bezel removal
(Figure 80); whereas the bezel fitting the 2U12 and 2U48 chassis provides two debossed pockets, is
equipped with an EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) shield, and may or may not be equipped with the
serviceable dust filtration option (Figure 81). The bezel used with the 4U chassis provides two debossed
pockets, and is equipped with an EMI shield to provide protection from the product (see Figure 82).
