The 4004 Series 2U12/2U24 and 4U56 enclosures are designed for NEBS compliance; however, the 4004 Series 2U48 and the
3004 Series enclosures are not.
Summary of drive enclosure cabling illustrations
The following illustrations show both reverse and straight-through cabling examples featuring 4004 Series
controller enclosures and compatible J6G56 (4U56), J6G48 (2U48), J6G24 (2U24), and J6G12 (2U12)
drive enclosures. The rear-panel views of the 2U48, 2U24, and 2U12 are nearly identical (the 2U48 PSU
includes a power switch). The rear-panel view of the 4U56 is unique.
NOTE: For clarity, the schematic diagrams show only relevant details such as face plate outlines and
expansion ports. For detailed illustrations, see Controller enclosure — rear panel layout on page 20. Also
see the controller module face plate illustrations that follow the rear panel layout.
