In Continuous applications, horizontal (linear) alignment of the Printhead to print roller is
also important to consider when mounting the SmartDate X40 Printer on the bracket.
The most common problem caused by horizontal misalignment is ribbon tracking.
The picture below shows how to align the Printhead to the print roller:
To correct the Printhead alignment:
• Loosen the M6x25 Mounting Screws on the Printer Mounting Plate (no more than
one turn)
• Loosen the Head Mount Clamping Screw and slide the entire Printer body to the
end of the bracket until the rear cover of the Printer body is flat against the side
plate of the bracket
• Whilst in this position, tighten the four M6x25 Screws and slide the Printer back to
the required position and secure the clamping screw
