MAINTENANCE, SERVICE AND FAULT FINDING
4-70 25364 Issue 8 March 2018
Unclear or non-existent
printout
The pressure is too weak. It is
important not to raise the pressure too
much, as doing so may decrease the
print head life.
The contrast is too weak or
non-existent. Control the contrast by
increasing it step by step in 'Print
Parameters' until a satisfying quality
has been achieved. Obtain good print
quality using as low a contrast as
possible.
There is a mismatch between the
ribbon and packaging material. This is
a common error when using a ribbon
other than a Easyprint ribbon.
After changing a print head, an
incorrect print head resistance value
was input. When changing the print
head, it is important to enter the new
resistance value by going to settings,
selecting hardware and choosing the
printer type.
The print head cable is incorrectly
installed after changing the print head.
Ensure all power is off before checking
this.
The print head is worn out.
Print does not stick to the
material and is not resistant to
soft scratching
Contrast is adjusted incorrectly.
Incorrect ribbon is being used on
packaging material.
It is not uncommon for the print to be
affected by heat or cold after printing
takes place.
Use of an incorrect ribbon has a
negative effect on the print resistance.
For Communicator II only: The air
pressure is too weak and needs to be
increased on the air regulator
(maximum 5 bar).
A large part or parts of the
print out is missing
The ribbon is folded. Remove the
cassette and make sure there are no
folds on the ribbon.
