3. Operation
3.1 Warm-Up
When the instrument is first turned ON it must go through a period of adjustment and calibration. No
measurements are taken during this warm-up period.
The following activities occur during warm-up:
Auto Ref. Adjust
Adjusts the reference voltage and internal trim pot setting
Auto Zero Adjust
Adjusts the zero offset
Heat CO Scrubber
The instrument progressively increases the temperature of the CO scrubber until it reaches the desired
temperature of 90 °C. When heating from cold, the scrubber will take approximately 20 - 30 minutes
to reach desired temperature.
Cell Temperature
Waits until the cell temperature reaches at least 90% of set point.
After this warm-up has completed the instrument will immediately begin making measurements (refer
to Section 3.2).
3.2 Measurement
The Serinus 30 primarily operates in the sample cycle continuously. A background is performed after
warm-up, once a day (at 23:45 as default) or when the chassis temperature changes by 4 °C. It is used
to measure background absorption in the cell and is subtracted from sample measurements.
